Two places for accommodation at the village

Mangalajodi is contiguous with the Chilika lake. Mangalajodi is not a bird sanctuary or a protected area. It is protected by villagers and local NGOs (Non-Govt Organizations). Mangalajodi is a notified wetland which gives it some basic legal protection. During the peak season, there are more than 300,000 birds here representing more than 200 species. There are two places for accommodation at the village of Mangalajodi provided by Godwit Eco Cottage & Mangalajodi Eco Tourism. They provide very very basic ‘accommodation’. The staff, though intending well, speak in a curious mixture of local Odia, Hindi, Bengali and some English. The method of understanding such a complex language is up to you. October to March is the best time to go but November sees the highest congregation. Summer and monsoon are to be avoided.
